Rating by category:
Service, restuarant and friendliness of the staff
room was only available at 2.30 pmn. but we could leave our luggage
The hotel staff were very efficient, the room was clean and had all I needed for my 1 night stay. Breakfast was fine, overall my stay was pleasant.
Bed was very comfy.
The view from the room wasnt great, it was a brick wall. Parking was small and looks like people can leave rubbish.
Its central location to the town centre, eveything was within walking distance and the hotel also had a free car park which was extremely useful!
One or two members of the staff were not friendly or approachable but rather rude; however the rest were very good!
The hotel was basic but clean.
The public areas were not as well kept as the room.
The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good and efficiently served I although it was a bit odd to eat breakfast in a Tandoori Restaurant
The door lock damaged and internal bolt was insecure. The room was generally clean but the furnishings were shabby eg iron mark on carpet, dirty blind, bathoom ceiling falling down, brown water fron cold tap
Room was small and very warm and generally quite run down. Hotel needs a fresh up.
The room was clean although on the small side it was comfortable.
Although the staff were approachable they did not appear happy in their work.
Location, price, welcome, room facilities
If the weather had been warmer, I guess the room would have been uncomfortably hot (no air conditioning) or too noisey (extractor fan outside room window).
Very warm rooms (too warm), hall way smelled of curry / spicy food
The staff were very friendly and courteous and the reception desk was manned 24 hours as promised. The room was exactly what we needed for staying in the city for a night, and the breakfast was brilliant. I would want to stay there again and try the adjoining restaurent for dinner.
The bathroom floor sloped a bit and I couldn't find a way to switch off the heated towel rail. However we enjoyed the sloping floor (uni nostalgia), and I just opened the windows for while to cool the room down.
Friendly staff and excellent central location.
It appears that the offer here leads you to a claustrophobic single room, masquerading as a double. Tiny room, narrow bed, one bedside lamp, one set of towels - conclusion - it's really a single. Too hot, with no air con. Noisy - staff banging doors etc.in the kitchens below the window late at night. A generator or air con unit for the kitchens adds to the noise overnight. Cheap maybe, good value - definitely not. Other rooms have air con and would presumably be quieter. If getting a 'cheap deal' means being provided second rate accomodation I'd rather pay full price next time. Breakfast was substantial and well cooked but cold, even though we were amongst the first down for it. I've experienced hotels accross the globe and I wasn't expecting a palace at the price, but this would have been poor value at half the cost.
this hotel is in the city center easy to find , great beds and close to shops and food and nice walk along river .
could do with air conditioning , better windows and maybe offer breakfast to the room ?
It was ideal for our trip. Great for shopping or walking along the canal and near to where by son lives. Alos the parking onsite.
Maybe just the amount of stairs we had to go up to get to our room. It really would not have been ideal for elderly people. Nothing wrong with the room itself.
Location and price
The floor we stayed on I feel needed updating compared to the front of house areas
